Numerous promotional activities have had a positive impact on the image of the City of Poznań as a city of tourist and business interest.

Tourism fairs and events

Apart from organised events, the tourist offer of Poznań was promoted by the PLTO at foreign and domestic tourist fairs and tourist events, including:

  • Berlin (ITB Berlin – International Travel Trade Show)
  • Tokyo (JATA Tourism EXPO Japan)
  • London (London City Fair)
  • Frankfurt (IMEX)
  • Poznań (Tour Salon Fair of Regions and Tourist Products).

Poznań’s participation in the Polish delegation in workshops with the Israeli tourist industry contributed to the launch of a new, direct air connection between Poznań and Tel Aviv.

Study visits

The development of tourism in Poznań is facilitated by study and press visits organised by the PLTO for journalists, bloggers and representatives of the tourism industry. In 2017 Poznań was visited by journalists and tour operators from all over the world: Poland, China, Denmark, Spain, India, Israel, Japan, Canada, Ukraine, the United States, and the United Kingdom. The result of these activities includes blog entries, press materials, promotional videos showing the tourist values of Poznań or closer contacts between tour operators from the countries mentioned above.

Other promotional activities

Thanks to PLTO’s cooperation with various entities from the tourism industry, the following projects were undertaken:

  • the “Campaign on Scandinavian Markets” initiative, which targets tourists from Scandinavia
  • Poznań’s promotion at Arrival Guides
  • regular cooperation with Radio Emaus, consisting in the implementation of a weekly broadcast containing several recommendations for spending a weekend in Poznań and its vicinity
  • maintaining and updating social media profiles.

The interesting publications promoting tourism in Poznań include:

  • “Przewodnik po fortyfikacjach Poznania” (“Guide to Poznań’s fortifications”)
  • “Poznań na każdą kieszeń” (“Poznań for every pocket”)
  • “Atrakcje turystyczne – okolice Poznania” (“Tourist attractions – the vicinity of Poznań”)
